RIVERSIDE LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION POLICIES
Revised October 2019 for the 2020  Season
NAME
The name of the organization is the Riverside Ladies Golf Association (RLGA).
PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization shall be to foster and sponsor ladies golf at Riverside Golf Course.
MEMBERSHIP
Any woman in the State of Utah may claim membership and compete in this association upon payment of association dues.  She must also join the Utah Golf Association (UGA) for handicap purposes.  Women who join and play only the 9 hole tournaments may elect to join or not join UGA.  They must make this election when they join the association and advise the officers of that election.
Women must declare on their membership application if they are going to be a 9 hole player or an 18 hole player.  This does not prevent an 18 hole player from playing 9 holes on occasion or a 9 hole player from playing 18 holes, but players are eligible for weekly wins only in their declared category ie:  an 18 hole player is only eligible to win when playing 18 holes.  This does not apply in the Sponsor Tournament.
Women who have age and handicap that total 95 or more may elect to play from the forward “silver” tees.  This election must be made when joining the association.
LEAGUE PLAY
All women participating in the regular weekly tournaments must be members of the Riverside Golf Association to be eligible for prizes.  All tournaments should be played with Association members.  Score cards must have full name of players, gross score, and/or scores, hole selections, etc as requested for the weekly tournament played.  They must be signed and attested before leaving in the score card box.
The tournament chairman will post all scores of UGA members to the GHIN system and determine winners in each flight of the tournament.  Flights are determined by handicap and participation in the tournament.  There will be a “silver” tee flight for those that have elected to play from those tees. Handicaps for non UGA members will be determined using a local handicap program.  A woman may win only one (1) first place per month.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
A woman in the association must play in 50% of the scheduled tournaments to be eligible to play for club champion.   Players in the second week of the club championship tournament will be paired with players in their flight based on the first weeks play.  The Club Champion will be determined by the low gross score overall of the two (2) day 18 hole tournament (36 hole total).  In the case of a tie, there will be a three (3) hole playoff on #’s 16, 17, 18.  One officer will accompany them as scorekeeper.
Women must be able to play both days of the tournament.
There will be a club champion awarded in the 18 and 9 hole levels.  Women who want to compete for the 9 hole champion must p lay from the gold tees.

NORTHERN DIVISION
A woman who is a member of UGA may join Northern as part of the Riverside team.  The Northern Division includes teams from other area golf courses.  Tournaments are held at the member courses to compete for points and the Northern First Place Team title.  At the beginning of each organization year, the President of Riverside Golf Association appoints the Northern Division Team Captain and the Northern Division Representative to represent Riverside in Northern.
OFFICERS ORGANIZATIONAL YEAR
The officer’s organization year shall be from the Closing Social held in October to the following Closing Social.  Officers shall consist of President, Tournament Chairman, and Secretary Treasurer.
